Curriculum Proposal

A curriculum proposal consists of some metadata (e.g. proposal name, type, submission and approval dates, and so on), and one or more files associated with the proposal (e.g. the original proposal document, some supporting documents, written comments by some reviewers, and so on). In the system a proposal is modeled as a SharePoint document set. It takes two steps to create a proposal in the system - first create a document set with the information of the proposal (i.e. metadata), then upload the associated files to the document set.

Curriculum Proposal Review Process

The curriculum proposal review process, as illustrated in the figure below, is the review process of a curriculum proposal here at CSULA.

Curriculum Proposal Review Workflow

Curriculum Proposal Review Workflow is an implementation of the proposal review process as a SharePoint workflow. This workflow is responsible for routing a proposal through the review process, sending email notifications to the responsible parties at each stage, recording the decisions and comments of the reviewers, and keeping track of the status of the proposal.
