Hi! My name is Kiara Westbrooks. I am a college sophomore who is working towards a bachelor's degree in computer science.
The major is known for being broad-based but, after some thought, I am considering specializing in programming.
Click here to learn more about me. As a college student, it is important to be, or at least try to be, on a budget. As such, while living as a college student,
in order to budget and save money where food is concerned, especially if you want to try to avoid the very real "freshman 15",
you should consider building up your cooking skills as they pay off in the long run. As such, I am trying to learn how to cook
and have made satisfactory progress (meaning, the food is edible).
Right now, I can cook the following:
Of course, due to my love of food, or as my mother put it,"Your favorite sport is eating." I would like to try out new food and learn how to cook them.
These food range from homemade tacos, collard greens, hushpuupies, and desserts, to foreign foods like potstickers, pho, sushi (with tons of wasabi...and water),
and falafel sandwiches, speaking of which, here is a recipe for falafels & falafel sandwiches.
But enough about food, let's talk hobbies. I don't really have much but I do like reading and watching movies with closed captioning, my most favorite genres would be:
comedy (think Tyler Perry's Madea), action-adventure (I like The Fast & The Furious movies), and science-fiction i think (The Day After Tomorrow counts
in this category right?). I am not much of a gamer, but i do have my favorite games: Final Fantasy X & X-2, fighting games like Tekken 4,
driving games like Need for Speed, and on PC, I like to play The Sims 3.
Currently, in my class we are learning JavaScript, since we have covered the bascis of HTML (I know this because I got 85% on the HTML quiz at this website)
I also took the quiz for CSS, I got 85% on that too...can't believe I missed two of those questions though, I'm sure I knew the answer. Anyway here is a link to our latest
lab: Easy Version next time I won't procastinate so much that I'll have trouble with the Hard Version...I really wanted to make that calender, though I wonder, if we
mastered the calender, would we have been able to add decorations? For an example, a Year of the Rabbit themed calender? Or maybe one based on video games like
Need for Speed.
Recently, my class had a lab in which we were to make an info page about the show Star Trek, and the three characters known as Scooty, Uhura, and Sulu. To see
page, click here, I hope it is informative enough even though i copied every last bit of info from Wikipedia
no worries though, I put a disclaimer on the bottom.
