Representatives from GE Digital will be on campus on Thursday, Feb 1 to discuss their work related to the Internet of Things / Industrial Internet

and Machine Learning / Data Science. GE offers career opportunities for software engineers and data scientists, and is also currently recruiting interns.

This is also a good opportunity to consider participating in the 2018 GE Digital IoT Challenge. The Challenge is a contest that will involve

a workload approximately equivalent to a 3 unit course during the middle part of the Spring term. I am recruiting Juniors and MS students

who are interested in these topics; students currently taking Senior Design can't join the contest team but should still come to the meeting

to learn about these topics and meet GE representatives. The contest is an opportunity to learn more about the Internet of Things / Industrial

Internet and about machine learning and analytics, and to get experience with GE's Predix, a professional-level development platform. The contest

offers cash prizes as well as further opportunities to network with GE recruiters and working engineers.
