Can anyone tell how transfer time is been calculated in question 2 solution of homework 1.

Transfer time = blocksize/transfer rate

It is given. Sector size = 512 bytes.

therefore 512*15 is the block size.

(512 * 15 )/9216000 comes 0.0008 something.. it is not equal to 0.025.. Can you give full calculation how 0.025 came.. Or there is misprint in the hw

This is what I understood. 

Transfer time = block size / transfer rate

when we calculated the transfer rate what we did is, we calculated for the whole track which is 9216000

now we are trying to transfer only for one block. so transfer rate for each block = (transfer rate for whole track) / (no of block)

transfer rate for each block = 9216000 / 30 = 307200

now calculate transfer time for one block = 512 * 15 / 307200 = 0.025
