Hello students,

My name is Loran, I am an engineer at Google and a former Cal State LA student and will be a TA for this class. I would like to welcome you all to the class and hope you find it insightful and informational.

I would like to clarify one point in the course material at https://cswithandroid.withgoogle.com/content/course in Unit 0 it instructions you to install App Inventor, I would recomened skipping that as it is uncessary for the rest of the course. We will be using Android Studio throughout this course. I would recommend you attempt to build your own first app following these instructions.  You will get the most out of this class if you attempt the work on your own before each workshop and come with questions. If you attempt to complete the entire workshop on Saturdays alone, you may not hit a roadblock until after you go home.

Look forward to working with you all and see you soon.

Loran

It meets on Saturday 10:30-2:30.   Don't know the exact time, but I know for sure that it meets on Saturdays.  Check your GET.
Also, you can skip lesson 0 and instead do the lesson linked in the post to make your first application.   http://developer.android.com/training/basics/firstapp/index.html

Where is the self-study exactly?  On the Course page, I cannot see a "self-study" section.  I only see the workshop, which I'm assuming we're doing in class.  Is it the "building your first app" page for now?

The Pre-Assessment will NOT be graded. Rather, the purpose of this assessment is to actually measure the effectiveness of the course. Thank you in advance for your help!

That is not the android class.   You are enrolled in to Software Metrics. The entire post doesn't apply to you.
