The visual studio 30-day trial has ended. Do we need to sign up or is there a license we can use?

You just need to sign into your Microsoft account. It works fine afterward.

Hello,

There are alternatives for C++ programming. You don't necesarily have to use Visual Studio. If you want to continue using Visual Studio here is a link from the school website which allows you to use Visual Studio.

https://www.calstatela.edu/its/services/software/tools/student.php

Here is a list of some programs you can download:

-Eclipse

-Netbeans

-GNAT

-CodeRunner

-Dev C++

-Code::Blocks

Note: some of the programs are by purchase, others are free.

Another option is going mobile.

www.c9.io (Cloud9)

This is a website where you can program in C++. You can run, build, and debug. The only drawback I have noticed is when you have a syntax error or logical error it won't tell you where exactly that error has occured as other programs will or atleast give you an idea as to what is wrong. Using cloud9 you have to find your error which can take some time.

I use Visual Studio Express which is the free version of visual studio. The express version is missing features from the paid version but it still has what we need for our classes.
