I can't get to cs.calstatela.edu at all and not to cs.calstatela.edu/wiki or any of its pages. Last edited by rabbott at

Hello, There seems to be some problem with the campus firewall. Please connect to our campus network with VPN first and then try to access CS Wiki: Here are instructions on how to connect to our campus network through VPN: http://www.calstatela.edu/its/services/network/vpn.php You can access the CS dept. website via this direct URL: http://www.calstatela.edu/ecst/cs without VPN.
I will open a Helpdesk troubleticket now for the firewall issue, but it will probably not be addressed until Monday.

Most of xxx.calstatela.edu are ok. In particular www.calstatela.edu, csns.calstatela.edu, moodle.calstatela.edu, web.calstatela.edu, alumni.calstatela.edu, and cpm.calstatela.edu:48000 seem to be ok. It's only cs.calstatela.edu that's not accessible.

I just found that cas1.calstatela.edu is responsive, but it says my account has been locked due to multiple authentication failures. Did those come from attempts to access cs.calstatela.edu? id.calstatela.edu also works. Last edited by rabbott at

Yes, ITS did some work on the network on 11/13. My guess is that one of the firewall rules to allow traffic from off campus into cs.calstatela.edu did not get transferred over. Something similar has happened in the past. For now please use VPN first, and then connect to CS Wiki until ITS fixes the issue.
Being locked out on the other server probably has nothing to do with trying to access CS Wiki.

This was my first time trying to use the portal for a couple of weeks. Multiple failures doesn't make sense. |

Junos Pulse VPN for CSULA allows me to connect to the wiki. |

Do you know when the wiki will be running normally again? I tried using Junos Pulse and I can't log in using my credentials, although they're correct. |

It's now available from off campus via a regular internet connection. |
