Each student registered in CS 496 is asked to write a short (~1000 word) essay during the fall and spring quarters. Please submit your essay on CSNS. Use MS Word, which is free to students.

The subjects are as follows.

Fall: In what ways is the experience of working on a team project, and one in which there is an external customer, different from your school experience until now? How have you adjusted your way of working and of interacting with people to accommodate this new framework? What is your primary role in your project? How did you find that role? Is it a role you like and one that you're comfortable doing? Is it one that contributes in a meaningful way to the project. Is it one in which you find your interactions with your teammates and the customer satisfying? How might you change your participation in the project so that it will be more enjoyable, more fulfilling, and more rewarding? [Due: Nov 29, 2015.]

Spring: What did you have to learn to participate in this project: a new programming languages, new libraries, new frameworks, new tools? How difficult was it to learn these new things? How did you go about learning them? Given what you know now, how will you approach learning new things after graduation? [Due: May 29, 2016]
