Are we at the crossroads where a mobile smartphone is able to fully replace a desktop computer?, is this perhaps the end of stationary computers for personal use and a rise to a mobile alternative.

even though smartphone can perform most of our daily task on the go, there are some heavy duty process that smartphones are not able to accomplish, such as video rendering and dx12 support, pc have fans for a reason, their high performance cpu and gpu got far more horse power than phones, even though phone shifting toward 64bit processors still no where close to replace daily pc. as far as mobile latop goes, nvidia i believe invented a graphic card gtx 980 without the m suffix onto a laptop. there might be a future where laptop and desktop have same performance but as of now, laptop and desktop performance are still far apart with exact same or similar specs (like gtx 980 and gtx 980m)not only gpu cpu as well.

if you treat phone as office task editor such as word powerpoint then yes, if you treat it as gaming machine, not even close to a pc
