Professor,

Could you please let me know whether the degree awarded should be static or it should be dynamically added by user?

Dynamic here means using a text box to add the degree awarded.

I don't quite understand the question. How would you enter a degree in the case of "static"?

Professor,

Hard coding the degree awarded in a dropdown menu like below

BS in computer science

MS in computer science

Phd in computer science 

or Can user add their degree in a text box?

Then you should use a text box, because although full-time faculty must have a Ph.D in CS, their MS and BS could be from many other disciplines like EE, Math, and so on, so it's not really possible to pre-create a dropdown list.
