I'm unable to view the video recordings of the class via the mediasite page. I uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight, and have tried with both Chrome and IE. The farthest I have gotten is this error message: "Unable to play the presentation. The media server may not be available or the media stream format may not be supported. (4001 An error has occurred.)"

Has anyone else encountered this, or know a solution?

Thanks!

No problems for me, have you tested out Silverlight on another site to rule it out? Test Silverlight here: http://bubblemark.com/silverlight2.html

The link for Albert's lectures is: http://mediasite.calstatela.edu/mediasite/Catalog/pages/catalog.aspx?catalogId=6beeac8e-8495-4236-bcd3-9e221414046c

Good luck.

The Silverlight test page works for me in IE. I verified that I had a fresh version installed, allowed pop ups, and restarted everything, but with no change in the problem. I'm using Windows 8 which isn't listed specifically on the  mediasite page, so maybe that's it? The SonicFoundry troubleshooting page isn't available to end users, as far as I can tell.

Any other ideas?

The error that you are getting is an invalid authentication issue from your computer to the media server.

Restart your browser, go to the link for Albert's lectures: http://mediasite.calstatela.edu/mediasite/Catalog/pages/catalog.aspx?catalogId=6beeac8e-8495-4236-bcd3-9e221414046c Now, the very first page that you get from this link should be an invalid security certificate warning. Then you click on continue to this website. Then you get to a login page where you input your main school user id.

If you are not getting these pages in this order, then you need to flush your cache. Start with "Shift + Ctrl + F5" and see if that helps. If not, you are going to have to delete your internet files.

If none of these work for you or the caching wasn't the problem...I just don't know. I have Win 8.1 and use IE 11.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help - I don't know, either. I do encounter the webpages you describe in that order; I erased the cache, history, and everything I could just to be safe, but to no effect. I'll see if I can take this to someone in IT next time I'm on campus.

I'm having this same problem too. I tried the solutions on the previous posts but none seemed to work. :/
