Hello Professor,

  As you mentioned that we cannot use any scripting element in the JSP pages, I have one question on that: Can we use Javascript to do the Frontend validation, like stage or checkpoint cannot be left blank before submitting the form.

JavaScript is fine. Read this about what "scripting elements" are.
