Here's how you did on the final exam. Q 1-4. Most people got the right answers. Q 5. 34 got it right (#2), but 22 got it wrong. The wrong answers were pretty spread out, with #1 the favored choice of wrong answers. Q 6. Most got it right (#3) but 25 had wrong answers. The most popular wrong answer was (#2) Q 7. Most got it right (#3) Q 8. 28 were right (#5). But 28 were wrong. The most popular wrong answer was #1. Q 9. 30 were right (#1). The most popular wrong answer was #4. This question had a typo, but only one person asked about it, and that was after most of you had left. I assume most of you read it as intended. Q 10. Almost everyone got this right (#2) Q 11. 23 right (#3). The least popular wrong answer was (#2). The others were evenly split. Q 12. Most had this right (#1) Q 13. 37 right answers (#1). No strong favorite wrong answer. Q 14. Most had this right (#3). Q 15. Only 12 got it right (#4). Each of the wrong answers was selected many times. Q 16-27. Most people got these right. Q 28. Many of you tried to use the extension to the Master Method. Q 29. 30 were right (#2). (!3) and (#3) were popular wrong answers. Q 30. 38 got this right (#3). Q 31. 32 got this right (#1), but 24 got this wrong. You all should have known this! Q 32. 20 got this right (#3). The favored wrong answer was (#4). Q 33. 31 got this right (#4). The most selected wrong answer was (#3). Q 34. 23 got this right (#2). A significant number of people in the afternoon section selected (#1). A significant number of people in the morning section selected (#4), is the same answer but more confusingly. Both answers say that there is no effect, which is wrong. Q 35. 29 got this right (#2). The favored wrong answer was (#3). Q 36. Almost everyone got this right. Q 37. Only 17 got this right (#1). The favorite answer was (#3). Q 38. 21 got this right (#4). None of the other answers have anything to do with topological sorting. Q 39 - 49. Most people got these right. Q 50. 32 got this one right (#4), but a disappointingly large number of people picked (#3), which has nothing to do with Bloom filters. In fact none of the other answers make any sense in the context of Bloom filters. That suggests that there is a significant gap in understanding the material and that many of the correctly answered questions were done by rote rather than understanding. There was a lot of cramming this past weekend. It probably helped some of you get higher scores, but it may not have helped you deepen your understanding.
