For this assignment are we to provide the user who is signed in (cysun) way to add new item types to the program, or are we to provide more than 2 items to add to the library database such as cd's and dvd's?

For the assignment the user can add more types than those that you supplied initially. So you need to give the user a way to add anything that he/she wants to, such as CD's, Magazine, etc.
