In talking to people I've noticed than many of you jump to conclusions. Often you take a guess and hope that it's the right answer.

I suspect that some people rush because it feels uncomfortable not knowing the answer. You are right. It does feel uncomfortable not knowing the answer. And you try to make yourself feel better by jumping to a conclusion. But that often gets you to the wrong answer. So you relieve the anxiety of not knowing only to find out later that it's the wrong answer.

Instead of rushing go more slowly. Go step-by-step. Be sure you understand each step. That way, when you get to an answer you will understand why it's right. If you don't get to an answer, then acknowledge to yourself that you don't yet know how to solve the problem.

It's ok not to know.

It's better to know that you don't know the answer than to believe that you do and then find out you're wrong.
