How long does it typically take for a CS major to get their degree? I was told it was around 4-5 years but is that correct?

It really depends on how many classes you take. If you're talking about a BS degree, it'll take about 4-5 years as you said. However, if you really want to get it early, summer classes will help. The more units you complete, the faster you graduate. I'm pretty happy with my 17 units and I'm hoping to complete 16-18 units every quarter.
