I have spent a couple of days trying to figure this one out. Even Eric was stumped.

When running the test case UserDaoTest.java from the sample code, it seems that it cannot find the persistence.xml file

I get this error message:

The same error is given for loading the rest of the bean creation calls from applicationContext.xml.

I cannot figure out whether this is an Eclipse configuration problem or a program configuration problem. The example code itself runs just fine and displays the contents of the user table from the database in the web application.

I'm having a similar problem with the Hbm2ddl.java program:

OK. Just got it.

It was a Java build path problem in Eclipse. 

For the Hbm2ddl.java problem the path ttt/src/text/java was listed in the Build Path but wasn't working. It required deleting it and adding it back in.

For the testng problem it required adding the path ttt/src/test/resources. It did not add it directly when I created the folders and copied in the xml file.

Try removing the build path entries and then re-adding them.
