I'm wondering how high math is involved. |

I know that when developing algorithms, my math studies has helped tremendously. Specifically, math on matrices (linear algebra) as well as calculus (series and sequences) can help simplify creating your own data structures if you can understand them. And also, computer science helps every aspect of the world, so science-based applications will benefit tremendously from a programmer with a strong understanding in the related math concepts. |

For computer science majors you have to complete math up to Discrete Mathematics. For all the reasons Navery said. Algorithms and Series/Sequences are everywhere. Plus you will get into some math theory, such as, graph theory(especially in video games), probability, combinatorics, and others I am even unaware of at this point. I haven't completed discrete math yet. |
