Hey, Professor Abbott

 

The Unit 7 is just 2 interviews with the guests, there aren't any lectures nor homework for us. I am wondering if you can do Unit 8-Models of self-Organization instead?

It looks like Unit 8 doesn't have anything yet.  How about looking at a few NetLogo models. Here are some interesting ones that are related to economics. These are from the web. It might be a good idea to download them and run them on your computer.

El Farol, Hotelling's Law, Sugarscape 3 Wealth Distribution, and PD N-Person Iterated.

See if you can understand what the modes illustrate and explain it to me.

Unit 8 is available on complexity Explorer. The videos are up, same with the homework.

Prof. Abbott, so are we suppose to do unit 8 or the programs you assign us to do for the coming Saturday.

Just the NetLogo programs for this week.  Wait until next week for Unit 8. If you've already finished the NetLogo programs, there's no harm in moving on to Unit 8. But let's plan to talk about the programs this week and Unit 8 next week.
