> The Intern will be part of the 211 LinQ software development team. 211 LinQ is a project within the Information Technology Department of 211 LACounty. 211 LA County is a non-profit organization whose goal is to connect persons in need or in crisis to available community and government resources. 211 LinQ is a customer call center application (inquiry, agency and site management) that allows Community Resource Advisors (CRAs) at211 to discover, identify and refer callers to the appropriate social services that meet their needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


> The Intern will report to the 211 LinQ Project Manager and will be part of a growing, exciting, distributed team of developers with a wealth of knowledge in data management, software architecture, open source software development, and the like. The team is focused on delivering quality software products and services for the betterment of the 211 organizational mission.

> The Intern should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of database design, modern open source software development practices and data management. Knowledge of Postgres, MySQL and relational databases a plus. Experience in Linux environments, specifically CentOS a plus. Experience with Apache HTTPD software required. Experience with PHP programming and Java programming a plus.

> The Intern will assist 211 LinQ developers with data-intensive systems tasks and queries, with the development of the 211 LinQ system, and with testing and software management.
