PlayWerks CTO Job Description

The CTO position will be held for a three-six month period with the potential to convert to a full-time offer. During this time, theCTO needs to own the development process and guide it to successful completion of v4 for the official launch of the website and apps. The CTO will work in conjunction with the founder to develop strategies and functionalities for the platform that best generate utility and a positive user experience. The CTO must be confident in their abilities as the majority of projects will be autonomous, and nearly all technical project responsibility will be placed on the CTO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Communicating with business team and able to rapidly switch between the two types of communication

* Development of a successful v4 with rapid iteration to follow

* Working with financiers to explain functionalities and acquire funding

* Strategizing with co-founders on further business refinement and product services

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Strong technical experience in design & implementation of modern web applications: HTML 5, PHP, MySQL, Unity 3D, iOSapp design and development

* Prior experience in gaming preferred

* Web security & performance optimization experience including COPPA a plus

* Familiarity with Ooyala a strong plus

* Deep object oriented design skills, capable of mentoring and grooming both junior and senior developers

* Strong process skills in SDLC strategies including any variants of Agile/Lean/TDD and full design through QA managementexperience

* Experience with big data, statistics, algorithms and highly scalable web architectures

* A penchant for exploring new technologies, hands-on abilities and passion for technology and problem solving

* Equally conversant in business strategy as well as technical architecture

* Skills in each layer of LAMP stack including hands-on Linux command line skills

* Startup attitude and experience. Willing to challenge assumptions and know when to pivot

* Executive caliber communication skills

* Open to learning new code languages

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be Equity as v4 is built. If team fit can be assured, substantial equity will be negotiated :)

With major potential for a full time position as financing is secured.
