Are we allowed to use a graphing calculator?  Or, are we only allowed to bring a scientific one?

I only have a graphing calculator (TI-83).  I tried looking for another one but I couldn't find one.  Can I just use it, I don't want to spend on another calculator.  Also, as far as I can tell, there is no benefit in using a graphing calculator to do these problems.  They are all straight forward. The only thing we use it for is calculating bytes to bits, log for the entropy, and doing standard operations with big numbers.

BTW, a little FYI to convert to base 10 we do the following:

Lets say we want to calculate log(base 2) x.  We do: log(base 2) x = log(base 10)x/log(base 10)2  <- Where the two is from the base 2.  We can substitute 2 for any other base.  I don't know if anyone else posted this, but it will come in handy for those who don't have log(base 2) on their calculator.
