I am confused on compression ration. Please help me . As per Lec-05-Lossless1.pdf Compression ratio = R/C –R = the total number of bits required to represent data before compression –C = the total number of bits required to represent data after compression
So this will be greater than 1. but most of the output is less than 1 .Please help me

C/R and R/C are both correct. The only difference is if you use C/R it means you have a (1:C/R) ratio and R/C means you have (R/C:1) ratio. (Original:Compressed) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_compression_ratio Last edited by Redalb at
