I am not able to login even though it seems like I followed every step and I

checked that the test data was actually in the database.

I had same problem. Initially I thought I am entering wrong account information but there is some problem with Postgresql. I had Vista on my laptop and whenever I tried to uninstall PostgreSql, the User info remained as it is and could not uninstall completely so I thought this was creating some problem. I tried deleting it with Net User [username] / delete command but that too did not help. I had one mini Win XP spare machine for which I had to do the setup from scratch and now there is no problem (Same procedure I used for installation on vista). Thats not feasible option but it worked for me. Here are the two links I checked and tried for a while with them.

I also do have a question if this is the problem with postgresql installed on VISTA or we are doing something wrong?

Look at the error message. It says something about not being able to find F:\Temp\csns\csns-app.log. Did you create the folders for log.dir and file.base.dir in build.properties?

"Same problem" means CSNS ran (i.e. the front page was shown) but you couldn't log in or you ran into some error during PostgreSQL installation?

I intalled PostgreSQL on Vista SP1 (Service Pack 1) without any problem.

And BTW, when you search for information online, make sure the information you find is up-to-date. For example, information on PostgreSQL from August 2007 is likely out of date.

Its vista SP1 itself, may be I would uninstall postgresql again and try.
